1970 GIANNINI 500 TV For Sale
1970 GIANNINI 500 TV
Here is your chance to own a very rare Giannini 500 TV. Like Abarth, Giannini was a famous Fiat tuner in Italy. There are only two know documented Giannini 500's here in the US, this being one of them. We brought the car over from Sicily in 1995 and have used it as a weekend car since. It has also been used in many TV shows and commercials including, M&M, Levi's Jeans, and Pepsi. Recently it was featured on Speed Channel's "101 Cars You Must Drive". The car has been shown at Concorso Italiano in Monterey a few times as well. This car which is the TV model was a basic appearance package. It has Giannini grille, gauge cluster, oil pan, and "sport" exhaust. This car has all these important items. I have a letter from the author of the Giannini book stating this car is an original Giannini and it was sold new in Palermo, Sicily.
EXTERIOR
The body on the car is in good overall condition. It still wears the same paint it had when we bought it. It for sure has been repainted at some point, just not sure when. It shines and is very presentable. It does have the typical chips any car that is driven would have. There is a chip on the passenger door and a few light scratches in a couple areas. Those were there when we bought it and it never bothered us so we didn't do anything about it.
INTERIOR
The interior is as it was when we bought it. It has been redone. New carpets were installed, and the seats were revovered. We did however replace the sunroof. The car still has the original Giannini guage cluster.
MECHANICALS
The car runs, drives, and stops great. We haven't done anything to the motor except regular service. We rebuilt the front susepension a couple years ago. The brakes are still in good condition and have plenty miles left on them.
TITLE
The car is being sold with a clear California title. It is currently registered and insured.
SHIPPING
It is the buyers responsibility to pay for and arrange shipping. I would like the car picked up as soon as possible once the car is paid for in full. Space is an issue for me and the reason I'm selling the car.
PAYMENT
A 10% non-refundable deposit is due no later than 48 hours after close of auction. Balance must be paid no later than 7 working days after the close of auction. I accept bank check or wire transfer as method of payment.
